Oh, my!

What a full November this has been . . . and it's not even Thanksgiving yet!

Noah had his second round of shots Nov. 6. It went much better than the first time! The crying only lasted 10 or 15 minutes. Noah is now about 2 feet long and weighs about 12 pounds (he was 11 pounds 12 ounces at his appointment). Dr. McQuie said we could start trying food with him. Dave gave the cereal a whirl, but it did not go over very well! So we're waiting a little bit before we try again!

Grandma Pat had her birthday Nov. 5. We went to visit her at work the afternoon of Noah's doctor's appointment. It was fun to see her at work! Mickey and Regina cooked us all dinner at their friends' B&B in Rocheport the following weekend to celebrate her birthday.

And the following weekend . . . we had a surprise birthday party for Grandma Pat and Dave! It was quite a while in the making, but it was so much fun! Apparently, they had no idea, but it seems like they would have had to figure out all the lies! We think about 100 people came, including Andi, Scott and Maya from Minnesota and Christine and Benny, who drove 2-hours roundtrip and stayed only about 30 minutes because Benny was sick. The books Tracy's friend Melanie made were a hit, and so was the food! A woman in Concordia made the cake (so yummy!), and Regina and Tracy made some snacks, and Marian, Lori and Kelly took care of the rest. Poor Dave ate so much dinner he couldn't eat any snacks!

Noah was a hit at the party! He was passed around almost the whole time he was there! Poor thing was on sensory overload Sunday! When he wasn't sleeping, he was crying! But he was back to normal by Monday.

Before he was born, we were sure the baby was going to be a gymnast. We were always impressed at how flexible he was in his ultrasounds. We're still thinking that might be the case, as Noah is usually pulling his feet toward his face when he's on his back!

He also spends a good deal of time pulling his socks off his feet! That's what the darker spots are next to him in this next picture!

Now we're looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving with the family this weekend! Happy Turkey Day to everyone!
