Whew!

We've had a wild couple weeks! Noah smiled voluntarily for the first time last Friday. Naturally, he doesn't smile long enough for us to snap a picture, but we love it every time he does!

We went home a couple weekends ago, and Noah got to meet Cousin Kaylor for the first time! They are fast friends; Kaylor enjoys giving Noah kisses. She grabs his face, bends down and plants one on him! She also enjoys patting his tummy, even if Grandma has to remind her to be gentle!

We found out the local Old Chicago was closing because they didn't want to renew their lease. Dave started their World Beer Tour when he moved to Columbia eight years ago, and he was so close to being done! We went two nights in a row, so he could finish the last five beers. Tracy got to have two more Big Cookies, though, so there was no complaining! They gave Dave his free T-shirt, and they will mail him the plaque they would have added to their wall. He feels he accomplished something, and Tracy is proud of him for taking eight years, instead of a few weeks, to drink 110 beers!

Tracy also had to have her gallbladder removed last week! Just one less organ to carry around, we guess! Grandma Pat came down for the surgery, and Dave was glad to have her company. Tracy was glad to have both of them there, even if it was a relatively easy surgery! Noah was quite the hit with the nurses! They kind of acted sad when Tracy was released early that evening!

This past weekend we went home again Saturday. We missed an accident by maybe a couple minutes and sat on the Missouri River bridge for an hour and a half. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the accident, and Noah slept through the entire thing! Some highlights included people using the opportunity to exercise (we keep expecting that was a tip in a magazine article about how to make the most of your exercise routine during your travels) and watching the man from two cars in front of us practice juggling on the bridge! This was after he pulled his basketball out of his trunk and worked on his free throws! Dave tried to get a picture of the juggling on his camera phone, but we're not sure yet how it turned out. This pic is of Dave's head in the sun roof with the bridge beams above. He couldn't get out of the car, as we were pulled to the side of the lane.

After this ordeal, we had lunch with Grandma Norita at Riley's in Lexington, then Noah "got" to spend the afternoon with Aunt Kelly. She mentioned they would be watching 90210 videos when we left, and he started crying. Poor kid! She brought him back cleaned and fed, though, so he survived. Somehow.

Kearston's birthday party was that evening, so he got to spend some time with the McGinnis fam, too! We had fish from Grandpa Rusty's fishing trip to Canada - so good!

Today we celebrated Hilary's and Brandi's birthdays. Tracy took them out for the afternoon, and we had cake and presents with Noah, Jason and Dave. No, Noah did not get cake. All in all, a pretty great weekend!

Noah goes back to the doctor Tuesday, and we're excited to see how his weight is doing. He's definitely getting bigger; we especially notice it in his hands and tummy! He gets the first round of shots Tuesday morning, so wish us luck!

Busy week

We had another busy week! The hospital gave us a gift certificate for a free tile with Noah's hand or footprint from the Mud Room (a local pottery-painting place), so we did that Sunday afternoon. The girl working there was a pro at this, and she got a great print on the first try. Should be done this weekend, and we can't wait to see the finished tile! Although it looks like he's crying, Noah smiled and/or slept through the whole thing!

We went to the doctor on Tuesday, and Noah weighed in at 7 pounds even! Grow, baby, grow! He's now 20 1/2 inches long. He's definitely starting to fill out more, but he's still smaller than Dave and Tracy were at birth! He will roll over occasionally, and he tends to spin himself 180 degrees in his crib when he's unhappy! He holds his head up really well, and we're expecting him to start walking any day now . . . kidding!

Tracy and Noah made a trip to Lafayette County Wednesday. We visited Grandma Pat at work and got to meet all her co-workers. Then we visited Grandma Norita at her place in Lexington. We had dinner with Grandma Pat and Grandpa Rusty in Concordia before Judy, Andi and Maya came over for a visit. Maya is such a cutie! She's four months old. Andi and Maya were visiting for the week, and it was fun to see them. Maya had her first visit to a farm that day, so she got to see pigs and mules!

Thursday was the grand reopening celebration for Hatch and McDavid halls at Tracy's work. Noah was a big hit with the college kids! He wore his "Tiger Pride" outfit again for Hilary, and she actually got to see it this time! Her birthday was yesterday, so it was a special gift!

We have another few busy days ahead with a trip back to Lexington and Concordia! Hope everyone has a great weekend!
